Building a Network to Realize the Vision of Internationalization Through Student Gathering FEB Udayana University - Wako University Japan

Denpasar, Press Bureau of BEM FEB Unud - Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University held an offline student gathering with Wako University, Japan, which took place at the IBSN FEB Unud Building on Thursday (14/2) in order to introduce international class programs and student exchange programs to Wako University student representatives. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Bambang Rudyanto as a representative from Wako University, Coordinator of the International Business Studies Network (IBSN) Program, Dr. Putu Yudi Setiawan, S.T., M.M., Global Engagement Program (GEP) Coordinator, I Gede Nandya Oktora P., S.E., MBA., CRA., CRP., and student representatives from Wako University totaling 28 people and 28 GEP FEB students at Udayana University 12 people.


The student gathering event began with introductions between students from the two university representatives and was welcomed by Dr. Putu Yudi Setiawan, S.T., M.M., I Gede Nandya Oktora P, S.E., M.B.A., CRA., CRP. as a representative of FEB Udayana University and Prof. Dr. Bambang Rudyanto as a representative from Wako University. Dr. Yudi Setiawan, S.T., M.M., started the event by introducing IBSN, an international program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University in partnership with universities in Germany. Then Mr. I Gede Nandya Oktora P., S.E., M.B.A., CRA., CRP. as the GEP Program Coordinator introduced an international class program that had been initiated for students of class 2022. GEP provides a forum for foreign students who wish to take part in a student exchange program by conducting face-to-face learning for 1-2 semesters at Udayana University. The GEP program encourages Udayana University students to gain international exposure through communication activities and relationships that are established with foreign students placed in their respective classes.


I Gede Nandya Oktora P., S.E., M.B.A., CRA., CRP. explained that the GEP was specifically designed for students who aspire to study abroad, work in multinational companies, gain international exposure experience, and understand the global world more deeply. So that GEP students are expected to be able to compete and collaborate with global citizens at the international level. I Gede Nandya Oktora P., S.E., M.B.A., CRA., CRP. also revealed that a student gathering-like program would take place consistently with other international university partners. GEP provides various mentoring classes, guest lecturer lectures, student gatherings that collaborate with the IBSN international program and international seminars that present quality speakers from various countries to provide international experience and exposure for Udayana University FEB students. Not only that, GEP also provides special mentoring programs for debriefing IISMA scholarships, company visits and student gatherings which are held together with foreign students in the IBSN program as well as many other international programs. In the field of research, GEP also encourages its students to carry out international standard research collaborations with partner universities. Later GEP graduate students will be prepared to become entrepreneurs who have a global vision or work with various multinational to international companies.


One of the participants in the student gathering activity, Ni Putu Devina Putri Sudarsana, expressed her impression when she had the opportunity to be able to talk directly with several students from Wako University. "I am very happy to be able to meet friends from Wako University and find out how their learning culture is there, and to be able to exchange information about each other's campus life and feel proud to be able to introduce some Balinese culture to them," he said. This is a rare opportunity to be able to talk directly and build relationships with students from universities abroad. Likewise with Putu Ari Kammani, a GEP student from the Accounting Study Program who was very grateful to have the opportunity to attend this student gathering so that he gained new knowledge about Japanese culture. In the online interview, he did not forget to give a message for the continuation of this activity in the future. "Hopefully in the future this student gathering can work together with other overseas universities so that in addition to opening friendship relations, it can also have a positive impact on FEB Udayana University," he said.
