PHP2D Faculty of Economics and Business Unud Encourages Arabica Coffee Innovation in Mengani Village

BANGLI, NusaBali.com – To further develop coffee commodities in Kintamani, Bangli Regency, the Young Entrepreneurs (Wida) team of the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program (PHP2D) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University held a training in Mengani Village.

"The innovation is to make a coffee bag and roasted bean type arabica," said I Gede Nandya Oktora, a supervisor in the training program involving 13 students.

The training which was held on Tuesday (26/10/2021) was attended by representatives from local farmer groups, as well as representatives from community leaders, as well as the Head of Mengani Village.

Not only doing Arabica coffee development training, Wida's team also conducted marketing training for the coffee bags and roasted beans. "Previously, we had had time to socialize PHP2D from August to October 10, 2021," said I Gede Nandya Oktora.

I Gede Nandya Oktora also added that there were other activities carried out in the PHP2D activity by the Wida team, namely the submission of a Home Industry Food certificate (PIRT) in synergy with the Health Office and the Bangli Regency Investment and One Stop Service Office to facilitate products. the coffee bags and roasted beans in Mengani Village, which are currently being developed. "At the end of the activity in November 2021, the Wida team will also hand over the machines used to support the coffee bag and roasted bean production activities, as well as submit the PIRT materials that have been submitted," he said.

I Gede Nandya Oktora also hopes that by holding this training activity, it can increase the knowledge of the local community, and develop the potential of Mengani Village, in this case the potential for the arabica coffee plant commodity. It is also hoped that it can help related communities to be active, independent, and creative entrepreneurs. "The coffee bag and roasted bean products are expected to become the flagship product of Mengani Village in the future," concluded I Gede Nandya Oktora.

It should be noted beforehand that the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University who are members of the Wida Team, have successfully passed the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program (PHP2D) and have received grant assistance from the government to help the Mengani Village community.

Not only from the government, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University also participates in helping its students for the smooth running of the work program that has been planned by the WIDA PHP2D Team.
