Brief History of the Study Program
The history of the Professional Accounting Education Study Program (PPAk) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University (FEB Unud), is based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 153 of 2014 concerning the Implementation of the Professional Accounting Program. This regulation stipulates that the Professional Accounting Program (PPAk) at FEB Unud is organized by higher education institutions in cooperation with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI). The regulation also states that students who are declared to have passed the PPAk program are entitled to use a professional title in the field of accounting and to obtain professional accountant certification after successfully passing all accounting competency examinations conducted by the IAI.
According to the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Number 25/PMK.01/2014, an Accountant is a person who is registered in the State Register of Accountants administered by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. To be registered in the State Register of Accountants, a person must meet the following requirements:
have passed the Professional Accounting Education Program or a professional accountant certification examination;
have experience in the field of accounting; and
be a member of a Professional Accounting Association.
The Professional Accounting Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University (PPAk FEB Unud), is a Professional Education Program organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University under a permit for the Implementation of Professional Education Programs issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Directorate General of Higher Education No. 3827/D/T/2003, dated November 20, 2003. The PPAk FEB Unud Study Program has been in operation since April 1, 2004, and continues to the present, based on the Extension of Permit Decree Number 4395/D/T/K-N/2013 dated January 30, 2013.
The PPAk FEB Unud Study Program is not only intended for Bachelor’s degree (S1) graduates in Accounting, but is also open to applied bachelor’s degree (S1 Terapan) or Diploma IV (D-IV) graduates from various disciplines in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 153 of 2014. The PPAk FEB Unud Study Program has also been evaluated by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and has been awarded an “A” accreditation status. This accreditation is valid for five (5) years, effective from July 6, 2021, until July 6, 2026.
