PHP2D as a Platform for Developing Mengani Villages in Bangli

The Holistic Program for Village Development and Empowerment (PHP2D) is a program that is directly supervised by the Ministry of Education and Culture by cooperating with student organizations in universities throughout Indonesia with the aim of fostering student care and being able to apply the lessons learned in class to rural communities so that they can can build a fostered village that is active, independent, entrepreneurial, and prosperous.

13 students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Udayana University who are members of the WIDA Team have successfully passed the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program and have received grants from the government to help the Mengani Village community.

Not only from the government, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Udayana University also helps its students for the smooth running of the work program that has been planned by the WIDA PHP2D Team.

Assisted by the Advisory Lecturer, Mr. I Gede Nandya Oktora P., SE, MBA, CRA, CRP, the WIDA Team had previously carried out socialization related to this PHP2D program to the local village community which at the same time had formed a special group of farmers consisting of 10 person.

The special team for farmers was named Tim Mydesni.

After the socialization, on this occasion the WIDA Team again held two trainings, namely marketing training and coffee bean processing training.

This activity is part of the WIDA Team's work program in PHP2D activities with the aim of providing educational insight to the Mengani Village community.

The training activity was held on October 26, 2021, which took place at the Mengani Village Head Office, Kintamani, Bangli.

The participants who attended were the local community and by Mr. Perbekel Mengani Village and local Village Audience Leaders.

For training activities on coffee bean processing, the WIDA Team collaborated with the Head of the Plantation Division of the Bali Province Agriculture and Food Security Service, while for marketing training the WIDA Team was accompanied directly by a Lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University who is also a supervisor from the WIDA Team.

The first session in the marketing training was conducted by Mr. I Gede Nandya Oktora P., SE, MBA, CRA, CRP as a FEB Unud Lecturer which consisted of material presentation sessions and discussion sessions with the local community of course followed by trying to practice what the first speaker had explained .

Followed by the speaker Mr. Ir. Lanang Aryawan, MMA as Head of the Plantation Division of the Bali Province Agriculture and Food Security Service.

Same as before, but for the practice of selecting coffee beans, it will be done later considering that the coffee plant is not yet ready to harvest.

It didn't stop there, the WIDA PHP2D Team had also collaborated with the Health Office and the Bangli Regency Investment and One Stop Integrated Service Office regarding the application for PIRT.

In addition to collaborating with the department, the WIDA team also collaborates with the BEM FEB Unud organization and also private institutions related to coffee bags and roasted beans which will be the flagship products of Mengani Village.

All work programs that have been planned by the WIDA Team together with their supervisors will end in November where the final activity of this work program is the delivery of machines, materials for PIRT submissions, and of course they will practice making products and marketing these products to the wider community.

By holding this training activity, it is hoped that it can add insight and develop the potential of Mengani Village so as to help the related community to be active, independent, and entrepreneurial, especially with Kintamani coffee products which have their own uniqueness compared to other coffees.(*)
